Our Approach
KBD Vision
No exams! While many of our classes include elements of syllabus work to ensure strong technique and understanding, we don’t have a grading system or exams. We believe students thrive in creativity and performance when learning within a more relaxed, expressive environment — one that supports both their confidence and wellbeing.
Fees and Uniform
All fees are paid by monthly direct debit, based on 36 weeks of classes spread evenly over 12 months. It’s compulsory for students to wear at least one item of KBD uniform in class. Uniform can be purchased through our online shop. Fees include all local performances, but additional production fees may apply for events that require costumes or extra rehearsals.
Kind Words
“My daughter has been with KBD dance for 3 years and she loves it. It’s fun and the teachers are always welcoming and with big smiles. She also has chances to perform at the carnival and the theatre which are great experiences and help build her confidence. The show is amazing, great choreograpies, inclusive of all abilities, ages and shapes, and fun. I can see my daughter continuing with KBD for many more years to come! We are lucky to have something like this in Bishop’s Stortford! Well done Katie and the team!”

Anything they feel comfortable moving in! We recommend trainers for Commercial and Street, and socks or bare feet for Lyrical, Jazz and Contemporary. When you sign up, your child will receive a KBD t-shirt, and you can purchase additional uniform items from our online shop. Please bring a water bottle to every class — staying hydrated helps dancers move at their best.

Every class begins with a fun, follow-along warm-up, followed by technique and skill work depending on the dance style. We always finish with learning a dance routine — with plenty of help from our teachers and assistants — so students leave each session feeling confident and accomplished.
